As Heath is putting Joey in the basket, getting ready to leave, he puts a Raggedy Ann doll in the basket, which didn't exist until 1918. Ben Rawlins finds the same doll on the road just before he is confronted by John Weaver. Another doll is found in Joey's sleeping room when Nick wakes up in the middle of the night to quiet him down.
Nick loads cases labeled "Brown's Baby Food" into the buckboard. Commercially prepared baby food wasn't known until the 1920s.
As Heath and Weaver lay on the cabin floor sleeping, the camera pans across the room. But midway through the panning, the camera catches its own shadow on the floor next to Heath. As the camera continues to move to the right, its shadow moves out of sight towards the bottom of the screen.
