- Bronco hired as shotgun by the Silver Flats bank is saved from certain death at the hands of a gunfighter by the quick wits of Rev. Dave Clayton, which leads to the confirmation that the preacher may not be exactly who he says he is.
- Bronco, on his way to Silver Flats where he has a high paying job offer, stops to fish. He and another man both hook a small fish leading to a friendly rivalry over it. Both have a good laugh that ends with them in the water. After drying off and dressing Bronco realizes the man, Dave Clayton, is a minister. Dave riding an expensive Arabian horse is headed to Silver Flats as well where he hopes to start a church. Bronco's job offer is to ride shotgun on a stage that has had the last three shotguns killed. Instead of the usual $50 pay, the bank offers $200 and a bonus of $100 if a gold note shipment makes it through successfully. Broke, Bronco takes the job. He becomes involved as Dave looks for a temporary meeting place for the church and has his first service - in the saloon. The saloon owner Turk Hansen is tricked by Dave in drawing cards for use of the saloon. Turk is working with Doc Moody to steal the gold notes. Doc recognizes that Dave is really the gunfighter Sam Driscoll and that both he and Bronco need to be eliminated.—Anonymous
