A lawyer (Jessica Walter) is defending two rather stupid losers. They are accused of cracking a safe belonging to a non-profit organization. This isn't so unusual or hard to believe. However, what IS odd is the public's reaction, as there are many death threats and a lot of hubbub about the case. First, there is a bomb that almost blows up the lawyer and next, a stabbing. Cannon is brought in to investigate and soon he realizes that there is MUCH more to the case--and that the two accused robbers know far more than they are telling their lawyer. In fact, it all points to this being an inside job--and that SOMEONE at the charity set up the safe job to cover up another crime. And, that someone is more than willing to take out Cannon if need be in order to cover up this other crime.
I guess my favorite part of the show was when Cannon was questioning one of the burglars. He pushes him to admit that he WAS involved and the guy says 'sort of'--at which point Cannon retorts '...that's like being a little bit pregnant!'. I wasn't quite as fond of the plot twist when one of the crooks went to the DA with a stupid story that EVERYONE believed all too quickly. This made no sense--especially as he implicated folks that simply wouldn't have been involved as they had stellar reputations and the crook was a CROOK!! Overall, the positives do outweigh the negatives in this one. The plot is (for the most part) rather unique and interesting. Worth seeing.
