there is also a great nod to the gay divorcée, with Erik Rhodes, who played 'Tonetti' in that movie, as a cinema verite director, and a salute to Fellini, too, with the bright blonde hair and music that emulates Nino Rota's Fellini movie scores. this is just one more great episode of a truly classic but under-appreciated great TV comedy. why do i have to have ten lines of text? because nine might not give enough praise to Joe E Ross, who played on the Phil Silvers show for Nat Hiken a few years earlier. he was also 'married' to Beatrice Pons on that show, with the same wonderful results. i know people with no sense of humor who laugh out loud when they see a car 54 episode. Jake Lamotta was on a few shows, Ossie Davis, and the great Molly Picon, as well. other plots emulated crime movies, naturally. this show is so underrated it s a crime.

Toody in love with a "blonde goddess - Lucille!!! Yes, as wacky as that sounds that's what happens here. Expect the insane you get a normal, hilarious "Car 54, Where Are You" episode.

Tired of being ignored for the 15 years of their marriage, Lucille goes to the hairdresser's one day and changes into a blonde. It takes a while to notice, but once he does, he's going crazy and suddenly is the world's most jealous.

The real funny parts come with the rest of the squadron, who think Toody is cheating on Lucille and going out with some blonde bimbo.

All-in-all, another good show, especially if you enjoy the crazy banter back-and-forth between Joe E. Ross (Toody) and Beatrice Pons (Lucille.)

This is another great episode of a great show. The writing,the timing and direction are first-class. All of the actors do a fine job and they work together pretty-much perfectly. I enjoy this whole charming series! 70 episodes were made over the course of 2 seasons. Surely this show could have lasted several more years,but they quit on a high note ! Far too many good tv shows in general were (and still are) run into the ground and it is a shame. Of course this is much easier to spot after the fact than during the time it is going on. Just think to yourself how many different shows over the years started out good and simply stayed on tv way past the time they should have. That is a fairly large number. Then,think of some new-at-the-time shows you've watched over the years that had promise and potential that quickly disappeared without explanation. That is surely a smaller number. (Not the crummy ones that were cancelled,there were surely hundreds of those) It is not hard to think of several reasons and scenarios that may have allowed for some of these other shows to drag-on past their expiration date.

These guys got it 'just right' with the Car 54 tv series !
