The film Thunder Road (1958) is a cult classic car film written by its star Robert Mitchum and is about moonshine liquor and evading the law by high-speed rural car chases. It is the direct inspiration for the comic reinvisioning, The Dukes of Hazzard (1979).

The title is a reference to a line from the song "My Blue Heaven" by Walter Donaldson and George A. Whiting: "Just Molly and me/and baby makes three."
