I think that tv viewer's opinions, likes and dislikes regarding tv characters and their different personalities and styles are a largely subjective matter that varies greatly from person to person. On one hand, there are some characters and things on tv shows that never seem to get old but remain funny no matter how many times we see them, even though we may realize that they are kind of silly or even rather dumb.
On the other hand, there are other tv characters and tropes that start-out as being quite engaging and well-balanced but they eventually unravel or become hopelessly annoying to the point of distraction.
There are several good examples of these different character-types to be found on Cheers.
The Diane character was rather likeable and sweetly funny for quite awhile but she eventually becomes imposibly and insufferably obnoxious and annoying.
Frasier's wife Lilith is rather cold and annoying yet at the same time she is also quirky and amusing.
Woody is as dumb as a box of rocks and he can indeed be quite worrisome but he is also a sweet character. It is pretty difficult not to feel sympathetic towards the doofus that is Woody.
Which leads us next to Woody's spoiled girlfriend Kelly, who has lived a sheltered life in a wealthy family.
I'm afraid that she is another character in the same category as the later version of Diane.
The Kelly character is very obnoxious, inconsiderate, and she really grates
on the viewer's nerves for several reasons.
Perhaps the icing on the cake is the childish pitch or tone of Kelly's voice, which is like hearing fingernails on a chalkboard ! This certainly doesn't add to her appeal.
This episode had me honestly wishing that they would just do-away with the Kelly character. It really was that bad of an episode, and she really is that gratingly obnoxious.
Woody deserves much-better,and so do we as viewers.
4/10 or less.
