Cheyenne finds out he may be John Abbot, the long lost son of one of the wealthiest men in the country. Doubts creep in the more he finds about his family and his father's deep-seated hatred for White Cloud, his Indian father.
Cheyenne is accompanied by detective Dennis Carter to the camp of White Cloud who raised Cheyenne. Carter is looking for John Abbot the son of Lionel Abbot. He was lost in an Indian raid when he was an infant and his mother was killed. Lionel was not with the family. White Cloud tells Carter the date on which he found Cheyenne which agrees with the date Lionel says his son was lost plus White Cloud produces a locket with the initials JA on it which he says he found on Cheyenne. Carter takes Cheyenne to Lionel who owns a massive ranch in Wyoming much of which he took from White Cloud with whom he is a mortal enemy. Cheyenne must prove his mettle with Lionel by standing up to one of his men in a fight. Afterwards, he learns that he has a brother James Abbot who is to receive an inheritance only if John Abbot is shown dead. James is married and a drinker who hates John due to his father's favoritism. Cheyenne hopes to repair the feud between Lionel and White Cloud but soon learns there are complications.—Anonymous
