In this February 1957 episode, a line to Cheyenne may have been a tip off for the premier of another WB western later that year; when James Garner, as escapee Willis Peake, remarks "I'm usually a gambler but I have more respect for you."
Three actors who went on to greater acclaim were in this installment: Angie Dickinson, James Garner, and Michael Forest, who is the least famous of the three. However, Star Trek fans and Gilligan's Island fans will recognize him from his appearances. He played Apollo in the original Star Trek series episode WHO MOURNS FOR ADONAIS and in the Gilligan's Island episode SLAVE GIRL.
Clint Walker does not take his shirt off in this episode.
The next time Cheyenne's bare feet are threatened by fire, as a form of torture, occurs in the Fourth Season episode called "Reprieve."
