Farewell to Jeannie Linero and Carole Cook
kevinolzak19 July 2016
"The Face Job" opens with former pickpocket Harry Stern (Bernie Kopell, only a year before THE LOVE BOAT) dropping by to pay back old buddy Ed Brown by way of his latest profession as a plastic surgeon: "he's gone from lifting wallets to lifting faces!" Jeannie Linero makes the last of four appearances as Chico's girl Liz Garcia, who believes that a face lift would be perfect for Ed. Making her third and final appearance as Ed's girl Flora is Carole Cook, who refers to her paramour as 'Ace' or 'Big Ed,' disappointed that he won't offer his free face lift to her! Ed's trip up the coast is a fruitful one, according to Chico: "you know how some people leave their hearts in San Francisco, Ed left his face in San Francisco!" The 'new' Ed Brown is a revelation, groovy mod clothes, plenty of jewelry hanging around his neck, dark hair and mustache, walking with a purpose. Even Liz is impressed, figuring that Flora will be 'all hot and buttered!' The second season introduced many new and quite interesting characters, played by Jeannie Linero, Carole Cook, Ronny Graham, Avery Schreiber, Angelina Estrada, Tony Orlando, and Jose Feliciano, but sadly none of them appeared beyond this season.
