Lansing plays an incredibly cold, evil man.

Robert Lansing plays Darcy, the leader of a criminal gang that is going to rob the bank in Cimarron. Part of the robbery includes using a rather dim young man as a diversion...even though it's likely the kid will be caught and punished for his involvment in the crime. This isn't too surprising, as Darcy is a total sociopath who uses people. In fact, after getting away after the robbery, Darcy kills the last surviving gang member with him so he won't have to split the money with him! As for the young man, he's in jail and Darcy couldn't care less. Unfortunately for Darcy, he soon is caught and he then learns something that makes him hate the Marshall and he plans on somehow escaping and exacting his revenge. In the meantime, Marshall Crown doesn't want to see the Kid (he really is credited that way) going to prison and attempts to rehabilitate him.

So does the Marshall's plan work and is the Kid now a productive member of society? Or, is he just biding his time...waiting to help Darcy once he escapes from prison?

I enjoyed seeing Lansing in this episode because he was the epitome of a cold sociopath...very convincing and very scary. Additionally, the plot was unique AND you didn't get to see much of Dulcey, MacGregaor or Francis...a major plus.

By the way, Slim Pickens also stars in the show as a man who seems to know everything about horses. It's a case of art imitating life, as in real life Pickens had been a cowboy and rodeo star long before heading to Hollywood.

Many Fools here

This episode of Cimaron Strip has Stuart Whitman foiling a robbery of an army payroll from a gang headed by Robert Lansing.

Lansing is a clever and ruthless outlaw and purportedly a professional. His anger at Marshal Crown makes no sense. He's a vicious killer anyway you slice it though.

Two other good guest stars here. Slim Pickens as a horse rancher contributes one of his homespun characters and Robert Random as a young would be outlaw.

Good guest star performances with a story that could use some improvement.
