Adoptive problems
JordanThomasHall1 April 2019
Eddie returns home from school to find the girl his age from next door, Elsie (Gabie Grammar) hiding in his room. She asks Eddie to secretly keep her hidden there, as she is trying to figure where to go after running away. He knows he should tell his dad but gives in to her pleas at first. He allows his father to guess what is going on and Tom sits down with Elsie and Eddie. She concedes her reason for leaving is that she just found out she is adopted. Elsie learned of it after breaking into her father's secret box of important papers. She suggests to Eddie that his father probably has one too, making him question whether he is adopted. Indeed, Mrs. Livingston shows Eddie his father's secret box. Elsie talks Eddie into breaking open the box until caught and stopped by Mrs. Livingston. Without knowing the contents, Eddie wonders more about it. Elsie fuels the fire by saying it was how she "found out who I am, or anyway, who I'm not". Tom talks to his son about why most people have a box of important papers and shows him the key if he ever wants to open it. They then discuss the contents- some necessary, some special. When Eddie asks, "What's the best thing to be- adopted or just born?", Tom gives a heart-to-heart to he and Elsie. Later Eddie shows his secret box to his dad with some special contents.

A touching story of a question probably every child wonders at some point. Added is some sneaky humor from Eddie- a nice touch for the series.
