Sgt Wilson and Pte Pike reminisce about a movie with Walter Abel and Joan Blondell. Abel and Blondell never appeared together, the movie they remember was Two in the Dark, and Abel appeared with Marie Smith in it.
In the scene where Wilson and Capt Mainwairing pick Jones off the floor of the bank and he tells them he's lost £500, the clock on the wall reads 6.40. Banks are not open either at this time and of the morning or the evening.
However its clear that the bank has been bombed so the clock probably stopped at the time of the bombing. As customers are using the bank its obviously open for business.

If Jones had two identical packages, one containing half a pound of sausages and the other £500, and the package he took to the bank contained the sausages, then it is obvious the money must be in the package sold to the customer who bought sausages. At no point does this occur to any of the characters which is just well as the story would otherwise have been over after five minutes.
