As Dr. Julia Hoffman's treatment begins for Barnabas, it seems to magically work, and the sense of joy he finds when he realizes he can see his reflection in a mirror is truly a wonderful moments. But Dr. Hoffman finds herself trapped into a corner when her colleague, Dr. Woodard (Stefan Gierasch) begins to suspect Barnabas of having committed the gruesome murders, and decides that she must stop him. A romantic evening with Victoria ends suddenly when Barnabas begins to feel his vampire urges returning, and of course, that leads to more treatments and possible side effects. As Julia spends more time with him, she sees the other side of the man, the once living one, and her affection for him unleashes her own inner monstrosity.

Tender and romantic for the continuing love story for Barnabas and Victoria, this third of twelve parts has some truly profound moments, especially when Barnabas approaches the sunlight to alleviate the suspicions of Dr. Woodard and the others who come to ask questions in regards to the murders. Unfortunately, other than Barnabas, Julia and Willie, not much of the rest of the cast has much to do, and some don't appear at all. The nightmare David has early on is in fact the only time some of the regular characters even appear. Another case of trying to stuff too much into a short period of time.
