Paine Page Prim (1822-1899) was the first graduate from Cumberland Law School in Lebanon, TN. In 1851, he settled in Linn County, OR, and set up a law practice. In 1859, he was appointed to the Oregon Supreme Court, and served as Chief Justice three times.
