- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: [worried about Freddie going out with Garth] I was just thinking about guys - you know, how we treat women. When you were my age, you did a little hoochie - did a little coochie too?
- Coach Walter Oakes: Sorry, did your daddy have this talk with you?
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: No, Walter. Just try to imagine back then. You and your girl had the house to yourselves, you're in the den on the couch, lights are low, Jeffrey Osborne is telling you that you're going all the way.
- Coach Walter Oakes: I've been there.
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: All of a sudden, things are getting heavy, she calls for timeout.
- Coach Walter Oakes: I've been there, too.
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: Now, you know that her mouth is saying no, but you're sure there are parts of her saying yes - not to mention, the parts of you. What part do you listen to?
- Coach Walter Oakes: Her MOUTH. And then you go outside and take a swim in an unheated pool.
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: So it's not my job to get her off the hook or to help her give it up.
- Coach Walter Oakes: [snickers] Man, if you think that's your job, your next job will be pressing license plates.
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: [in a high voice] Get out of here!
- Coach Walter Oakes: Man, what you're talking about is rape!
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: No, no, Walter, this isn't some wacko in the bushes with a raincoat; this is you and your honey.
- Coach Walter Oakes: Now, I don't care, man. If the girl says no and you don't listen to her, it's rape. Plain and simple, case closed...
- [hits the table]
- Coach Walter Oakes: ...10 to 20.
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: [after a long pause] Oh, man.
- Coach Walter Oakes: Now, it's my turn to ask questions. Why are we talking about this?
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: Well, it's just that... you know, guys need to talk about this stuff, too.
- Coach Walter Oakes: [after Garth's arrest] I can't believe I actually begged that kid to come to school here. I even promised his mama that her little boy will write home every week.
- Jaleesa Vinson Taylor: Walter, he had us all fooled.
- Whitley Gilbert: Not me. I knew the minute that cad called me Courtney he was a worm.
- Kimberly 'Kim' Reese: I am so glad Freddie had the guts to report Garth to the police.
- Leticia 'Lettie' Bostic: A lot of girls don't. They think if they were out on a date, somehow they were responsible.
- Kimberly 'Kim' Reese: That's probably what kept Tammy from saying anything until now.
- Whitley Gilbert: That's it! I'm starting a petition to have that overlook changed into a bird sanctuary!
- Coach Walter Oakes: Hey Parks, it's after curfew, brother, I hope you walking in your sleep.
- Garth Parks: Coach, I know I missed bed check, but if you're gonna bust anybody, bust Dwayne, I mean I like the guy but if you ask me I think he bounced off a few too many walls.
- Coach Walter Oakes: What the boy do this time?
- Garth Parks: First he tells me to take Freddie to the dance, then he follows us up to the overlook, and out of nowhere he jumps into my sunroof and starts beating on me.
- Coach Walter Oakes: Dwayne Wayne?
- Garth Parks: Well it wasn't all his fault, see Freddie's trying to play the two of us against each other. She's bad news.
- Coach Walter Oakes: [laughing] Freddie?
- Garth Parks: That chick is a tease! You should've heard her. 'Let's go look at the stars', like we're going on some kind of field trip. You know the game they run, they want to do it but they need a little help giving it up.
- Coach Walter Oakes: What'd you just say?
- Garth Parks: You know how they are, they're trained to say no, it's our job to
- Coach Walter Oakes, Garth Parks: Let them off the hook.
- Garth Parks: Yeah.
- Coach Walter Oakes: Where'd you get those scratches?
- Garth Parks: Freddie, I told you. She puts on this great innocent act, man, when she gets going, she's an alley cat.
- Coach Walter Oakes: Oh man!
- Garth Parks: I'm never going out with her again.
- Coach Walter Oakes: [pokes him with a baseball bat] Oh you got that right, in fact, you might not be going out for a long time.
- Jaleesa Vinson Taylor: So how's it feel to be a hero?
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: No, the real hero is right here.
- [points at Freddie]
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: She did really well at the police station, she didn't do too bad at the overlook either. Hadn't been for her, I'd still be mooning the stars from the sunroof.
- Coach Walter Oakes: How's Tammy?
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: She's pretty shook up, but she told the police everything.
- Freddie Brooks: She just... went up to his room to get a blanket for the picnic, and...
- [sniffs]
- Freddie Brooks: I thought I knew him.
- Coach Walter Oakes: Well at least he's off the streets and in a jail cell where he belongs.
- Leticia 'Lettie' Bostic: Maybe. Date rape is a hard thing to prove.
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: But we've got witnesses right here.
- Freddie Brooks: I'm going to see this thing through to the end.
- Freddie Brooks: [Garth kisses her] My first kiss!
- [clears throat]
- Freddie Brooks: I mean here at Hillman.
- [laughs]
- Freddie Brooks: I'm a dweeb of the first magnitude.
- [Garth kisses her again, harder, she gets uncomfortable]
- Freddie Brooks: Garth, you're probably not too aware of this, but your hand is on mine...
- [Garth moves back]
- Freddie Brooks: thank you.
- [looks out the sunroof]
- Freddie Brooks: Is that Venus exploding?
- [Garth kisses her and pins her down]
- Freddie Brooks: Garth, wait a minute, wait a minute, please, Garth hold on!
- [pushes him back]
- Garth Parks: Freddie, you didn't come up here just to look at the stars.
- [pins her down]
- Freddie Brooks: Garth! Stop it, please!
- [scratches him]
- Garth Parks: You want it rough? I can play that for you!
- [tears at her clothes, Freddie screams, Dwayne jumps on the top of the car and grabs Garth through the sunroof]
- Garth Parks: [defending Dwayne] Hey, Coach, the sun was in his eyes.
- Coach Walter Oakes: That was his excuse when we lost the night game.
- Garth Parks: Excuse me, Courtney.
- Whitley Gilbert: [furiously] Courtney? It's WHITLEY, you dumb jock!
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: [while holding Garth off from the sunroof] Go, Freddie, go! Go, Freddie, go!
- [Garth pulls Dwayne into the car]
- Dwayne Cleophus Wayne: Wait, Freddie, wait! Wait, Freddie, wait!
