- Sully (Joe Lando) joins forces with Preston (Jason Leland Adams) to try and peacefully stop dam construction that will kill hundreds of acres of countryside. Preston's main interest is that the river that runs past his hotel will be dried up by the construction, which will hurt his business.
Preston, meanwhile, has hired men to hijack a shipment of dynamite, and any witnesses will likely be killed.
Sully learns of this and rides with them to prevent the murders. However, witnesses see him riding with the hijackers, and Judge Webster (guest star Stacy Keach, Sr.) finds him guilty and throws him in jail.
As sheriff, Matthew (Chad Allen) reluctantly incarcerates Sully in the town's jail.
