- Friday and Gannon question Officer Paul Culver, on the job only 114 days and currently working undercover out of the narcotics division, about the armed robbery of a liquor store in Hollywood. Despite a positive identification in the line-up and thinking he failed the lie-detector tests, Culver swears he is innocent.—bobbymaxwell
- Officer Paul Culver is accused of robbing a liquor store while on stakeout duty to find a drug dealer known to be operating in that particular neighborhood. Friday and Gannon interrogate Culver, but the young officer becomes more and more agitated and reluctant as the interrogaton proceeds, even though he agrees to a lie-detector test - he brusquely refuses to learn its results when they come back. Friday eventually learns that Culver's girlfriend doesn't want him to be a policeman, and he tells Culver about the mixture of sheer tedium, danger, and bitterness that exists for policemen, but that good men like himself can and need to get the job done. No sooner does the interrogation grind to a halt than a shocking discovery is made when Gannon gets a call from another holdup.
