Review - Season 3 Episode 11 The Big Will Aired 11-12-53 Friday has the innate ability for picking certain things out that seem hinky, having to check them further, in order to validate authenticity. Questioning a beneficiary twice to get the story straight after discovering the evidence on the premises. Tire track impressions taken at the murder scene prove to be those at the location of the will's benefactor.

Word was mentioned to the next-door neighbor the benefactor was subject to change according to the victim. The woman mentioned in the victim's will was a childhood friend, her father was losing his abilities to reason, ultimately to tell the police he was the killer. Friday states his timeline is contradictory, his beneficiary daughter has a flawed time sequence, also.

Friday, Smith ask her if she was the killer, knowing the car was at the scene of the murder. She confesses to killing the man she said she loved, but it was obviously not a mutual love. The deceased was infatuated with the divorced, younger daughter of his next-door neighbor. The murderer could not see her way past jealousy of the younger woman, after all these years.

A sad tale, but a very believable one, nonetheless. This is worth watching, if only to hear Friday sniff out the truth, even before the evidence pointed to the killer.

Hell hath no fury...

This episode of "Dragnet" begins unusually. A man has been shot and Friday and Smith arrive before the paramedics. The man is still alive but just barely and his neighbor is trying to prevent the man from bleeding to death. Then, after a few moments, the man dies. This is VERY gritty stuff--surprisingly gritty then as well as now.

The rest of the show concerns investigating the crime--which turns out to be relatively easy. However WHY the crime was committed is very unusual as well as that they now have TWO folks claiming to have done it! These makes the case just a bit tougher.

This is a rather straight forward episode and apart from the brutality of the killing, it's pretty ordinary in most other ways. About average for the series.
