million dollar legs
I've ridiculed it and it's been the low point of my week many times, but...

Noticed with the previous episode already, Daisy's finally showcasing her famous attributes. Yeah, those long legs insured at Lloyd's of London for a way, way cool million bucks! And in this episode, there's also Ashley Cox. Finally, a DUKES OF HAZZARD episode that I felt like cheering for. Photography is up from the dismal green screen shots of "The Meeting" and the car smashes pile up a mile a minute. Lots of work and effort and car wrecks. There's a particular front-end bender that had me wincing for the stunt man. Ol' Rosco comes down in a river bed and the car engine goes like a concertina...

The Duke boys are shown (albeit only for the sake of bare chests) doing actually honest farm-boy work for the first time in the series. Has anybody ever realized that Daisy is the only breadwinner in the family? Uncle Jesse milks a goat in the opening credits, that's as far as it gets farming-wise.

Notice made to myself while watching: Show shouldn't be relegated to the trash-heap necessarily. Well, not necessarily. With the previous one, I reminded myself that it is best to watch it like a live-action cartoon. That's why the guy pointing out a Goof re Rosco's cement-caked pants cleaning themselves up really actually misses the point. Everything is just played for laughs... doesn't matter further on.

Except Daisy's legs. They're not for laughs. They're for one long appreciative whistle. And a sad sad sad shaking of the head for the good old days long long gone by.
