(the score given is for the beautiful junior leads Catherine Oxenberg and Heather Locklear, they make the show worth watching, why worry about it having lost all credibility?)
Watching this on DVD, I got quite dismayed. Did I skip an episode? Blake tells Alexis about having seen amnesiac Fallon in California. News to me, I didn't see that! I rushed over to good old trusty IMDb, quickly checked, no, the previous episode was "The Decision" so there isn't even a chance that my box-set shortchanged me. No episode was skipped. Obviously, the culprit must be the pilot episode of THE COLBYS. I do not have that. Okay, good riddance then, boring ol' Jeff and fake Fallon and that young whippersnapper, tata you lot. Wish they threw in that jazzy opera singer as well... :P
The powers-that-be has committed every sin in the book How Not To Thoroughly Screw Up A Long- Running Classic TV Series. They (if you'd pardon me to be crass) belched in our faces for the sake of a spin-off. After saddling us with a host of unnecessary ill-advised characters that didn't go anywhere (former grand dame of movies from the early Seventies Ali McGraw being the prime example) while I could forgive them for Rock Hudson, there was that major unforeseen problem there, but at the time it sure would have seemed to be a good idea... But Ali McGraw and Dihanne Carol, what.were.they.thinking?
What with all the mistakes in DYNASTY #5 and #6, I have no confidence in any further ventures by this team, so I will not be investing in the spin off, no thank you.
I wonder how many people watching on DVD after all these years know the answer to 'the missing events' specified by me. This will solve the puzzle for them. Relax, fellas, nothing wrong with your box-sets. No missing episodes. For the full picture, go to THE COLBYS as well.
