At the time, there was a piece of "junk mail" that practically everyone received, in the greater Los Angeles area: it was an "invitation" to join a video dating service called "Great Expectations". They also had commercials on television. This title spoofs that service.
Ellen mentions to the dating service lady that one of the many men she dated was named "Rico". In the previous episode, the chronicling of the old man's life was an element copied by Do Rico (2000). It would appear they also borrowed said mentioned Spaniard's first name from this title and composited into their one same episode. (Somebody in that production must have been watching Ellen episodes back to back to "borrow" ideas.)
