Sweet Mary Ann engaged to a mobster?! Say it isn't so!

"The Attorney" is a very good episode of "The F.B.I." and like so many of the episodes, it sports a very interesting list of guest stars. Some of them are excellent character actors, such as Arthur Hill and Tim O'Connor and others are familiar TV heroes such as Ed Asner and Dawn Wells. In the case of Wells, it's pretty interesting as she plays a woman who is engaged to a mobster...and when Erskine first interviews her, the lovely lady is quite a mouthy dame! Yes, Dawn Wells playing a mouthy dame!!

The episode is unusual because it begins with a criminal being apprehended and charged with gambling and racketeering. What follows is an odd plot where a man is planning on murdering the mobster's lawyer and pinning it on a VERY dumb employee (Asner). It's also unusual because it's a rare episode because one of the good guys actually gets shot!

This is a very good episode of the series. My only complaint, and it's minor, is that Asner's character seems a bit too dumb to be real! But still, despite this, the show is exciting and quite different.

Dawn Wells was one of a kind.

I say that after viewing her appearance in this episode. Truly a huge upgrade from Mary Ann on Gilligan's Island! And maybe just as good as Russell Johnson's appearances on this series.
