The 'Iceman' is a killer whose weapon of choice is, not surprisingly, an ice pick. Soon after the story begins, the Iceman sees a guy he knew in prison....and the Iceman wants to remain incognito. So, he does what you'd expect...he stabs the guy and leaves him for dead. However, he doesn't die immediately and he's able to alert the FBI that this criminal is on the loose. And, since the Iceman has been working for the notorious Martin gang, the agency is very interested in finding him, as Scott Martin (Ralph Meeker) is one on the 10 Most Wanted list.
Once the agents figure out where the gang is held up, they cannot just storm the apartment complex since there are neighbors to consider. Little do they know that in addition, Martin has a girlfriend and she and her young son are also in harm's way.
I liked this one a lot because it was so interesting once the standoff began. This takes up most of the episode and it works well for many reasons. It's tense, difficult to predict and quite exciting.
