Tunnel love.

The most interesting thing about "The Tunnel" sadly is not included on the DVD for the series. According to IMDB, Efram Zimbalist ended the episode with an appeal to the public in the FBI's search for James Earl Ray...the man who shot and killed Martin Luther King. It would have been interesting to see this.

When the episode begins, three guys tunnel out of prison and are met by accomplices. It seems that they were broken out of prison so that one of them, a master tunnel builder, could work on a bank job involving tunneling. What follows is a tough episode where several of the inmates are expendable as the tunneler is needed but the others are replaceable. Can the FBI find these fugitives before this big bank job?

This is a pretty exciting episode...even without the James Earl Ray appeal. Well worth watching as it has an interesting plot and some very capable character actors.
