Jody has a crush on Will Robinson's mom! As a big Lost in Space fan, I couldn't resist making that reference. Actually, this is the nicest, most heartwarming Family Affair episode that I've seen, so far. Jody's attraction to substitute teacher Miss Evans is not a crush, but something that goes much deeper. When Cissy meets Miss Evans, her non-verbal reaction explains everything. Cissy then shows Miss Evans a picture of her deceased mother. It actually is a picture of June Lockhart, which reveals a strong resemblance between the two women. A very sweet, heartwarming scene. June Lockhart and Kathy Garver would have been believable as mother and daughter. A nice looking mother with a nice looking daughter. One aspect of the story didn't make complete sense, however. Jody seemed to not understand what he felt towards Miss Evans. Whether or not Jody remembered his mother wasn't made clear. All things considered, a most enjoyable episode. Since she was "Miss" Evans and Uncle Bill was a bachelor, it would have been interesting if the June Lockhart character had been worked into subsequent episodes.

Warning: Spoilers
The real story is that both Mr. French and Uncle Bill THINK he has a crush on the new teacher. Played by June Lockhart (of Lassie tv show), Bill invites her for dinner. It turns out that she has a strong resemblance to their (dead) mother. Jody does not know this and says, in so many words, that he doesn't understand but feels like he want to be near her all the time. Bill show him a photo of their mother and..... It's quite touching.
This show is on reruns daily on Decades (following the Donne Reed show) and just saw this episode a about 2-3 weeks ago.

Warning: Spoilers
Jody likes a new substitute teacher, but is sad when she leaves. When Uncle Bill meets Miss Evans, the substitute teacher, he realizes that she looks like the mother of Jody, Buffy, and Cissy. Jody doesn't realize this is why he likes Miss Evans so much because his memories of his parents are fading. Jody and Buffy were not babies or toddlers their parents died. They were around the age of 5 when their parents passed away. I can believe their memories are fading to the point of not remembering what their mother looked like. Why weren't there pictures of the parents at least in the bedrooms of Cissy, Buffy, and Jody?
The children don't have a picture displayed?
