Aunt Oona (#5.23)
ComedyFan201022 July 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Urkel's shy aunt Oona comes to town and he introduces her to the Winslow's so she also becomes friends with Harriet. And in the meantime Winslow drives through their house wall on his snowmobile so Eddie needs to participate in a karaoke to win the cash price to use for the repairs and the whole family comes

Of course this episode was mainly done to provide a cameo opportunity for Donna Summer, but it ended up pretty awesome. The whole karaoke that had some 70's feeling to it was very entertaining. Besides the great performance by Donna Summer we got to see our guys doing some great job in very hilarious costumes and their competition was pretty funny (and good) as well

Aunt Oona sings a Donna Summer song
gregorycanfield21 September 2023
Who knows why Donna Summer was selected to play Steve's Aunt Oona. She wasn't an actress, and her performance as Aunt Oona was ineffectual. This is, of course, until she starts to sing. At the talent contest, Steve suggests that Aunt Oona get up and sing. This was where I started to like the episode. All of a sudden, Aunt Oona was gone, and we had Donna Summer! She now looked like the beautiful woman that she was, and she performed one of her best songs. Interestingly, Donna Summer's music was clearly not of the generation that was current at the time. Great choice! It was good to hear real music, instead of rap. Donna Summer literally redeemed this episode with her great performance. Everything was pretty underwhelming, up to that point.
