Heart Strings (#4.16)

Warning: Spoilers
Oh no, another Richie story. What are they good for? Those kids can't act and just say lines while looking stupid. Way too many scenes on it in this episode and they are not even funny.

Harriet and Carl's story just shows us how couples can complete each other with their different personalities. Not a special and memorable story, but with a good message and good acting.

Laura and Steve's story isn't all too funny. Laura agrees to be Steve's valentine since they are both lonely.

It is not a horrible episode, but it lacks comedy. The only worthy scenes are Steve in that chocolate box and the Muppet quote

Laura cries on Steve's shoulder

Warning: Spoilers
Laura tells Steve that she broke up with Ted. She winds up crying on Steve's shoulder (and in his arms). She agrees to be his valentine, based on a "no lip contact" clause. Interesting, considering that she had already given him two hugs. The Steve-Laura connection is underplayed in this episode, but it still comes through. The argument Carl and Harriet have is not very interesting, since we don't see what happened in the restaurant. Richie and Gwendolyn were cute together. Note that this review is being submitted at the time of Naya Rivera's disappearance. Watching the episode now, it's unsettling to know that cute little girl is the woman who is now missing.
