Making the Team (#3.8)

Warning: Spoilers
This is less of a funny but more one of those "motivational episodes". Showing us by examples of Urkel and Laura trying to play basketball and cheerleading how everything is possible if only one doesn't give up and try.

Urkel is absolutely adorable in this episode. Him running on the court in his nerdy pants are some wonderful scenes, and it is absolutely heartbreaking to see our little nerd covered in towels when the coach doesn't let him prove how great he is.

Laura's story was good because it was nice to see her suddenly feel what Urkel does feel all the time when ridiculed but at the same time I thought her cheer was pretty bad as well.

"They mean to me, they make fun of me...they..they..." "They treat you the way people treat me?"

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Steve and Laura have paralels storylines: Laura tries to make it on the Cheerleader team, while Steve tries to make it on the basketball team, although the answers to these "try-outs" are very quick and early in the episode (Steve doesn't get in and Laura does), the interesting part of the episode is the way Laura for the first time puts herself in Urkel's shoes, and actually asks for his help in managing being made fun of by other cheerleading members, his advice is actually great and it does warm Laura's heart, and the spectators too "I'll be the best equipment manager there ever was, and maybe next year I'll make the team". The end is good also if predictable, the other characters are barely there, a negative. 6/10 ****** Peter Shelby

Great and motivational episode that would make especially positive viewing for any growing and unsure child.
