Marcia Brady's turn

Warning: Spoilers
This segment's two stories revolve around the search for a treasure hunt, and a young woman's fantasy is to be a beauty pageant winner, just like her mother. The guest stars include Maureen McCormick(first of 6 appearances on this show), Gene Barry, Peter Haskell, Jo Ann Harris, and Michael Callan. Neither story held much excitement or drama, save for a few scenes with an alligator chasing the fortune hunters, or falling rocks inside a cave where the treasure chest was located; another interesting scene was when Sally(McCormick)tells Roarke that she wants to win the pageant fair and square, not "predetermined" as he originally promised her. In a very predictable conclusion to this story, Sally loses to a girl from Texas, who needed a win for more important reasons than Sally's, although Sally's main goal was to win the love of her father(Barry), as they both shared a few emotional scenes together. The other story had a very jealous husband named Stu(Callan)constantly questioning James'(Haskell)interest in his wife(Harris), but after Stu decides to save James from the falling rocks instead of taking off with the treasure, they leave the island happy, and I'll assume his suspicions were quelled.

As I said earlier, nothing really stood out for me in either segment, but this was the inaugural season and I'm certain they get better as the show gains steam, as I prefer the more sinister stories which this show became famous for.

Warning: Spoilers
I have to agree with Stones up there, i couldn't have detailed this episode better. this is the first episode i've seen in a few weeks that wasn't a 1984 Mr Belvedere episode. I love Mr Belvedere in his Lawerence role and think they would have even more success if he was always there instead of that pervert Tattoo. The only bad news was the 1984 episodes were all about lost/broken/need to be reconciled love stories which made me sick. They finally had one the other night that wasn't but it was about dancing and women's rights in the workplace (yawn). So i got off topic there but i was really excited to see that an older episode was again on and i could see a story arc were some guys are looking for treasure . I saw the Brady Bunch girl was on a beauty contest and wasn't looking forward to that, boy was i right, see above review to see why that sucked. Actually read above review to see why the treasure hunt episode sucked too. predictable story line, how many times have we see the "pick others lives over the treasure " theme? granted this episode is 1979 but i m sure it was old then. I'm only 39 so off the bat i only think of rip offs that happened after this, most notable "Goonies" "Duck tales" and Indiana Jones to name a few.

still , as always , better than the crap on TV now.
