Carlos asks Sisters Bertrille and Sixto to pick up a little Korean girl named Kim Ching (Miko Mayama) that he signed up to be a foster parent for a few years prior. They go to the airport to find she has grown into a lovely young adult. Kim hopes to find a husband as considerate as Carlos. Kim stays at the convent where she catches the eye of gardener Ramon Diaz (George Bryson). He asks to take her out, but Carlos doesn't consent to him or anyone else, taking his father role seriously. He asks the convent, with an accompanying check, to teach her the culture in a charm school-like setting. Kim views the overprotectiveness as Carlos wanting to marry her. Kim also feels it is her duty. Ramon is angered by the situation and sets out to protect her, unknowingly from herself.
