The sisters are all thrilled by the new, modern habit, that is until one by one they all realize that the new cornette with which will no longer allow Sister Bertrille to fly. Not only is Sister Bertrille devastated by the fact, but all the sisters are as well. They cannot hide their depressed state from anyone, but the Reverend Mother wants them all to put their best faces forward to the public - during what is a regular used clothing drive - and to the Mother General, who will soon be visiting to inspect the sisters in their new habits. When Sister Bertrille visits Carlos to pick up some used clothes, she tells him that as much as the sisters love the new habits, it's styling will no longer allow her to fly. Carlos too is devastated since he knows that this fact will stop the sister from dropping by as often as she does. But Carlos has a plan in mind. He enlists the help of Dolores, part of his floor show, who makes all her own costumes. She unveils to the sisters and the Mother General her newest creation, one that will take Puerto Rico by storm: it is a stylish dress and hat that oddly resemble the new habit. The Mother General is dumbfounded and immediately orders another edict that the sisters return to their old habits.—Huggo
