This show begins with a scene where two characters discuss how a dam being built in Italy might well collapse due to inadequate materials being used because of corruption. The dam that is shown under construction is undoubtedly the Vaiont Dam, near Erto e Casso, then in the province of Udine in northern Italy, which was completed in 1960. On 9 October 1963, three years after this program was made, the real dam did suffer a partial collapse which caused a catastrophic flood, costing at least 2,000 lives.
