The haunted combine
Calicodreamin19 September 2021
Unique storyline and great effects, the scarecrows looked authentic and had a serious creep factor. Beware of the haunted combine.

Wonderful, Yet Grim Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode, especially the ending, even if it wasn't what the writers were intending, it feels like an open ended decision to the viewer whether or not the farm machine crashed through the home, of course, the family has plently of time to move out of the way, but they may not have enough time if the machine begins following them. At least, that's just my theory on the ending, yeah sure it may be grim, then again, Goosebumps had an episode where a mask got stuck on a kids head...you think they wouldn't have a dark, open ended ending that's to be left up by the viewer whether or not the characters fate was met?

Good suspense, weird execution
Vincolum22 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The brothers are likeable, and you can feel there's something wrong with Stanley and the grandparents. The mystery about the living scarecrows is engaging. The plot tries to hide what is happening as much as it cans.

Sadly, the actual threat is not that scary. The scarecrows are very inconsistent, sometimes they are very strong, and sometimes they are hilariously weak. Maybe if the scarecrows had weapons, that could have made them an actual danger. I understand that Stanley is supposed a stupid man, but his actions are very absurd at times, especially at the end when he reads the magic spell. The twist ending is kind of forced, but somehow more threatening and scarier than a bunch of strawmen.
