This episode was filmed for Season 2.
After finding out Lisa's mother is coming to visit, Eb constantly repeats "Grandma, is coming." However, one time, he says "Großmama is coming." "Großmama" was obviously a contribution from Eva Gabor, because it is the German word for "Grandma".
The young girls of HYPAS (Hooterville Young People's Agricultural Society) have prepared a song to welcome the countess: "Hail to the countess/ Hail to the countess/ We're so glad you're here./ Hail to the countess/ Hail to the countess/ Raise your glass of beer."
References are made to Sam Drucker, i.e. Frank Cady, making an error when printing the newspaper a few years ago announcing Tom Dewey, i.e. Thomas E. Dewey, was elected president. This alludes to the iconic photo of President Harry S. Truman holding a newspaper with the (erroneous) headline "Dewey Defeats Truman," which was printed based on early projections that Dewey, the then-Republican New York governor, had defeated the incumbent, President Truman, in the 1948 presidential election.
With Sam Drucker's Countess Arrival Warning System, a green rocket goes up if she arrives by train, a red rocket if she arrives by plane, and a yellow rocket if she travels by car.
