- Wo Fat brings in an assassin to kill a man who made a tour of Communist China and got a good look at its nuclear facilities. The spy freaks out and runs just before the sniper pulls the trigger, and it takes three shots to bring him down. When the man is still alive with a bullet next to his brain, Wo Fat and his goons contact the top neurosurgeon in Hawaii with a "request" to ensure the spy dies on the operating table. To ensure his "cooperation", the goons kidnap the doctor's daughter and hold her on a boat. McGarrett and a Federal agent embark on an elaborate case of counter-espionage to trick Wo Fat into going back to Peking and getting the Party bosses to tear down their nuclear reactors -- and to find the girl, her kidnappers and the mole who tipped off Wo Fat in the first place.—Peter Harris
- Steve is informed that a shooting occurred at the airport. He goes to investigate and finds no trace. He suspects this is the work of a government agent with whom he is acquainted. He goes to the hospital and finds the man. He tells Steve that the man who was shot had been tasked with finding out about Chinese missile sites. The man kept the info in his head. The man was shot in the head so any attempt to operate could be fatal. They opt to wait. Steve decides to investigate anyway. The agent tells Steve that the man, upon arriving, came up to him and another agent. Then he ran and someone shot him. Steve deduces the man was afraid of one of the agents he met, meaning one of them is working for Red China. Wo Fat is there to ensure the man dies and so abducts the daughter of the surgeon scheduled to operate and tells him to make sure the patient dies.—rcs0411@yahoo.com
