- Blue meets a neighbor Fergus MacLeish who proves to be unsociable unless he knows you. Back home Blue asks Big John to buy new boots as his are worn out. Big John is reluctant as cash is limited. Buck tells Big John he is going to town the next day and that he feels Blue should be able to join him. With Buck and Victoria's urging, Big John relents sending the two with Manolito for supplies. Thinking he knows what is needed Big John doesn't ask Victoria who becomes upset. On the way the three decide to stop by the MacLeish ranch where a suspicious Mrs. MacLeish relieves them of their guns and sends then on their way. In town they end up in a friendly fight with Bart Kellogg followed by Blue leaving to buy boots. Buck's friend Kansas arrives and eventually draws Buck into a poker game cleaning out Buck and Blue's new boots while Manolito courts the engaged Pearlita. Having lost the money for supplies, Buck relies on Manolito to recover their money. Manolito wins but the trio may not make it home with the supplies - even the gift for Victoria Buck bought to get Big John out of the doghouse.—Anonymous
- Buck, Blue and Manolito are on their way to Tucson for some shopping, when they decide to visit their new neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. MacLeish from Scotland, who might have some whiskey. Just outside the farm they find a dead robber, shot by Mrs. MacLeish. She is suspicious also about the new visitors, and with her rifle pointing at them, she forces them to drop their guns and go away. Arriving in Tucson without weapons, the three friends go in different directions. Manolito visits the Mexican girl Pearlita Flores, Buck gets involved in a fight in the saloon, and Blue goes to a shop to buy some new boots. In the saloon Buck loses all his money at poker, and when Blue arrives, Buck uses the new boots as deposit in the game, but loses them as well. Manolito seizes Perlita's lover Carlos in a knife fight, and gets a bunch of money for releasing him. With his new money Manolito sits down at the poker game, and wins back all lost money and the boots from the banker. The banker knows that the three guys from High Chaparral have no guns, and on their way home he tries to rob them, but Mr. MacLeish turns up with his rifle, and helps them.—Maths Jesperson {maths.jesperson1@comhem.se}
