- Abe gets threatening hate messages over Robert's interracial marriage; Robert gets accepted into college; Ginger's job requires her to go on a date with a lucky contestant which causes conflict with Jeff; Mr. Sloan and Judy bond over their love of Indians baseball.
- Sans Father Dreher's blessings to wed secretly Jeff and Ginger agree to postpone their wedding for another 3 months, so Ginger can get her next big break. Jeff posses as a waiter at the restaurant where Ginger (as the Lemo Tomato Juice Girl) has dinner with the winner of a Tomato Juice contest. Jeff gives Ginger an ultimatum - go to the party tonight or no marriage. She ops to sing instead.
Passing on yet another game with her husband (this time to catch up on chores), Ruth sends her husband, umbrella in hand, to the game. Lucky for Judy she did. The rain came pouring down. The game cancelled, Judy and Mike, Sr. trade life stories. Mike's stories are filled with his wife. His offer to give Judy a ride home is denied.
Robert gets into college. He also gets hate mail and phone calls which his father conceals. Abe Davis readies to protect his family with a shotgun, until his wife finds it. As they argue Robert overhears what's really going on. The Sloans meet Perrette, "She's so...French." "She has Morrocan blood in her", Ruth to Mike on why Perrette is married to Robert. Perrette and Robert move away to keep the family from getting hurt. The Davises are distraught.
