• Sundance : I swear, Gurney, I don't believe you! The whole town's out looking for your hide and you sit there swillin' rotgut.

  Gurney Mills : I was just passin' the time. It gets lonesome.

  Sundance : Well, it gets a lot more lonesome at the end of a rope.

• Sundance : He's got a trial comin'.

  O.K. Lassiter : He's had his trial. All he's got comin' to him is a plot of dirt.

  Sundance : I said you can't have him.

  O.K. Lassiter : I don't figure Aaron and the lady is willing to get hurt trying to save him.

  Sundance : Well, maybe *I'm* willing.

  O.K. Lassiter : You better be sure, Sundance. Maybe don't stay maybe very long.

• O.K. Lassiter : This is crazy talk. Crazy!

  Sundance : If it's so crazy, Lassiter, go ahead and prove you're innocent.

  O.K. Lassiter : I can't do that! You know I can't. You're putting thoughts into people's minds. You think I'm guilty, at least give me a fair trial. Go on, I'm not afraid. I'll take my chances in any court in this land!

  Sundance : That's all I ever asked for Gurney.
