A solid end to the first series.

Pilot Mike Barclay takes up a Mark 2 jet for testing, it crashes, but he survives, Doctor Corder is called in to learn whether it was a suicide attempt or Pilot or Plane error.

It's not one of my favourite episodes, the plot is good, if unremarkable. Corder's presence feels a little half baked, he's always right at the centre of things, but here he's simply a bit part player.

Over and out is very well made, the sets and flight sequences are spot on, and it's certainly well acted, and compared to the rest of Series one, it's a little different.

The most interesting scene has to be where Mike is taken straight back to the scene of his horror, and the cabin of The Mark 2 is recreated, it's both revealing and shocking.

Very strong, convincing acting from Ian Bannen, it's a very convincing performances as troubled pilot Mike Barclay, credit also to Zena Marshall, who played his wife.

7/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Mike Barclay (Ian Bannen) is a test pilot for an experimental jet that crashes. He is now in a coma in the hospital.

Dr Corder is called in by the owner of the company to find out if Barclay attempted to commit suicide. He had got all his financial affairs in order before the test flight.

Corder makes it clear that his patient is going to be Barclay. He assesses both Barclay's domestic and work life.

Later it transpires that Barclay might have taken money from a rival to deliberately sabotage the plane. Corder does not believe this as the crash could had killed him.

Corder finds that Barclay's wife does not want to visit her husband in hospital while he is in a coma. His secretary is besotted by Barclay.

The episode benefits from plenty of location shooting, footage of planes and an impassioned performance from Bannen after he comes round from his coma.

Corder recreates the test flight that crashed as Barclay recreates the different pressures he has been under. A pilot who has gone over the edge.

Although it was silly of him to choose his wife over the secretary at the end!
