The great Don Rickles
kevinolzak29 October 2016
"My Master, the Weakling" was the only appearance of insult comedian Don Rickles, in his element as arrogant naval commander Francis N. Kiski, whose latest assignment is to transform two 'sissy' astronauts into top fighting men. Majors Nelson and Healey may get a passing grade from Dr. Bellows, but Kiski is a hard nosed disciplinarian who works them into total exhaustion, unable to stay awake dancing with Jeannie. Unable to dissuade the pugnacious Kiski from working her master into a nervous wreck, Jeannie blinks him into becoming his sweet Aunt Effie, a gentle soul who prefers to comfort the men rather than make them suffer. They manage to save the soft hearted Kiski from enemy capture, only for the belligerent one to reemerge with tales of bravery in saving Nelson and Healey while in an amnesiac blackout. Rickles is good enough to smooth over the rough spots in the script, and one's only regret is that, unlike the similar Paul Lynde, he never made a return appearance. This episode's one shot general is Harry Harvey as Powlett, while STARSKY AND HUTCH's David Soul plays only his second television role as an orderly.

Shape Up Hockey Pucks

Warning: Spoilers
Guest Don Rickles tries to shape up Tony and Roger as an instructor in the NASA shape up program.

Seems the astronauts are getting soft. Then the hard nose Rickles runs into the hard edge of Jeannie's magic and bedlam ensues.

Of course after a long day of physical strain, it's time for Tony and Roger to go dancing. Most torture for these two since Jaennie's sister stopped by.

Rickles is effective here though he does not get a lot of his humor into this outing. Still it is an enjoyable episode for everyone except Tony & Roger.
