What lays behind the red door?
Sleepin_Dragon20 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Moss has a new mug, but it's blank. Jen wants the boys to clean their office up, it's a typical IT space, full of mess. Jen wants to know what hides behind the mysterious red door, and when the boys leave the Office she's straight in. She gets a shock and discovers a man in there, a tall, mysterious goth who's been in there for four years, he is Richmond Avenal, a previous high flier who's career failed when he became a goth.

'Goths are people too!'

I loved the scene of Roy fixing the computer and ending up marooned between two girls under the desk, hilarious. I also loved the homage to From beyond the grave with the door.

Great episode, Noel Fielding was really funny, what a quirky performance. He's so funny, glad it wasn't too long before he returned.

Better!

I've been a bit underwhelmed with this series up until now, but this episode stepped up the pace and actually made me laugh. Noel Fielding was awesome and really added a lot to the mix, quite a performance.

The coffee mug scene was hilarious!

Warning: Spoilers
One of the funniest scenes in The Red Door was when Denholm (Chris Morris) had Moss's coffee mug which had gone missing from the IT department. The pay-off in the scene was superb! The I.T. Crowd debuted when MySpace was at its peak, just before Twitter was invented, and just as Facebook was becoming popular amongst the masses. I wonder how the series would play out if rebooted in the world of Instagram, Snapchat and so on.

The first episode of Richmond

What a mess in the office, but it's a delicate ecosystem in Roy's eyes. Moss's cup is really funny, especially in Richmond's hand.

The Rise of Richmond
three-m8 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I was starting to doubt the recommendation of a colleague about the comedy chops of The IT Crowd until Jen boldly opened the Red Door, previously unnoticed by her and then out of bounds after her discovery. She finds Richmond, the friendly Goth, in a room full of electronic equipment with blinking lights. We learn how Richmond was once a sprightly fellow before embracing his Gothicness and a favourite of the MD, Denholm Reynholm, until a falling out results in Richmond's banishment to the basement. Richmond's plight is too hard for her to take and she encourages a reconciliation. What lies behind the Green Door?

Warning: Spoilers
OMG the vampire guy was so weird, he gave me the creeps. For now, the less favorite episode from the first season.
