Trial at Cranby's Creek
Prismark101 February 2022
Inspector Duval ends up on the Australian outback to pick up a Belgian national wanted for murder in Belgium.

Instead he finds his man locked up in jail in a small mining town run by mine owner called Cranby.

He runs the town and decides to dispense justice by holding a kangaroo court.

Duval ends up defending the Belgian so he can take him to Belgium where he would stand trial.

It is a silly episode. The town in effect has declared independent from Australian laws. Duval should had just called the police himself no matter how long it takes.

Instead he interferes and trusts the wrong person.

Still it was nice to see Duval turn Perry Mason.

I know this whole series is just meant to be entertainment, but if a judiciary want a suspect arrested and extradited from another country they get the local police to nick them and then send officers over to escort them back.

In fact there's actually every chance that Interpol would not get involved at all in such matters, other than from an intelligence point of view. So there's no way that on his own Duval would go to the middle of nowhere in Australia.
