- [first lines]
- Deputy Cully 'Kid' Adonis: Boy, am I glad to see you back!
- Johnny Ringo: Cully, what's the trouble? Where is everybody?
- Deputy Cully 'Kid' Adonis: I've got Carlos Garcia locked up in there - the Tiger of Sonora.
- Johnny Ringo: The bandit? What's he doing here?
- Deputy Cully 'Kid' Adonis: The U.S. Marshal brought him in an hour ago. Told me to clear everyone off the streets. Said I should get him when you got back... expects trouble, I guess.
- [Ringo slugs Marshal Kramer]
- Deputy Cully 'Kid' Adonis: He's wearin' a badge!
- Johnny Ringo: So am I! I've been lookin' fr him for ten years and I swore when I found him, I was going to kill him. Now, I'm going to kill him.
- Marshal Kramer: I figured when I go, I'd be lookin' down a gun barrel. I didn't figure the man on the other end of the gun would be wearin' a star, too.
- Johnny Ringo: A star doesn't change anything between us.
- Marshal Kramer: When you've been wearin' it as long as I have, you get to know what it really means. A man's blood, bones, soul all mixed up together called law. Now there ain't no books ought here that say where and how - the only thing that matters is that the law has got to win.
- Johnny Ringo: Are you afraid, Kramer? You weren't afraid when you shot Mitchell in the back.
- Marshal Kramer: I'm too old for bein' afraid. Only a proud man is provoked by false pride. Don't worry me to lose a battle now and then... so long's as I win the war.
- [Kramer pulls a gun on Ringo]
- Marshal Kramer: Ringo, you do what I say!
- Johnny Ringo: Would you like me to turn my back?
- [Kramer insists on traveling despite his broken ribs]
- Marshal Kramer: When we get to Yuma, we settle; until then, he's my prisoner. I say we move on. Now, what'll it be?
- Johnny Ringo: Kramer, I don't care how you die, just as long I'm there to see it. If you want to kill yourself that's your business
- [last lines]
- Marshal Kramer: Like you, I pay what I owe. I told you when we got to Yuma I'd take this star off and we'd settle. There it is.
- Johnny Ringo: No, Kramer, a man like you should never take off this badge. I think I know what you meant about mixing a man's blood, soul and bones together and calling it a piece of tin. You know, it's funny, but somewhere along the line, I seem to have lost my revenge.
- Marshal Kramer: You're a good lawman, Ringo. What's more, you're a man.
- Johnny Ringo: From you, I'll take that.
