- As Amy turns 40 she starts to experience sickness due to her pregnancy and it seems everyone has a remedy for her. Amy must decide the sentence of a young girl who killed her best friend and another person during a joyride. The girl seems to show no remorse but is really struggling with the emotional realization that she ended the life of her life-long friend. After calling numerous recesses Amy goes to the doctor and learns that her fetus is no longer viable and she miscarries. While trying to find solace alone on the beach she meets Jerry who tries to hit on her and follows her to a ocean-side café finally giving Amy the insight she needs to deal with the massively unfair situation.
