  [he fires clay projectiles, which Lantern blocks] 

  Simon Stagg : [watching them fight from a nearby car]  Are you getting this, Java? I want them to see what my creation can really do.

  Java : [seeing a mini-explosion]  Whoa!

  Simon Stagg : It might even have military applications.

  Metamorpho : I won't let you take her from me.

  Green Lantern : Mase, you're making a big mistake.

  Metamorpho : No, you did. And it will be your last, old friend.

• Simon Stagg : You idiot! I told you not to let that case out of your sight.

  Java : Sorry, boss.

  Simon Stagg : Now it's going to cost me even more to cover up your connection to the crash. If this project fails, Stagg Enterprises will go bankrupt, and it'll be your fault.

• Simon Stagg : Hello, precious. I came as fast as I could.

  Sapphire Stagg : Uh, thanks, Daddy.

  Simon Stagg : You said it was urgent. What's wrong?

  Rex Mason : That depends on your point of view.

  Simon Stagg : What are you doing here?

  Rex Mason : Giving notice.

  Rex Mason : I've accepted a job offer in Chicago.

  Sapphire Stagg : And I'm going with him.

  Sapphire Stagg : I'm glad you understand.

  Rex Mason : I'll clean out my desk tonight. No hard feelings... Dad?

• Simon Stagg : Gentlemen, you have a problem.

  Mr. Braddock : It was an accident. There were no fatalities.

  Simon Stagg : You got lucky this time, Mr. Braddock. But because of unsafe conditions like this, the unions are demanding higher wages, and the insurance companies won't cover your risk. Luckily, I've got a solution.

  Mr. Braddock : Please enlighten us, Mr. Stagg.

  Simon Stagg : I call it Metamorpho. A chemically altered worker who will not merely survive in most hazardous environments, but will thrive in them.

  Mr. Braddock : Stagg, we need a practical solution, not some half-baked, computer-simulated fantasy.

  Simon Stagg : I assure you it's no fantasy. Stagg Industries has sunk a fortune into developing this.

  Mr. Braddock : Hogwash. I'll believe it when I see it, but not until then.

  Simon Stagg : [Braddock and the other executives leave]  They want proof? I'll give them proof. All I need is a volunteer.

• Simon Stagg : Mason, thank heavens you weren't hurt. We'll sue that railroad for all they've got.

  Rex Mason : It wasn't their fault.

  Simon Stagg : What?

  Rex Mason : Simon, why was Java on that train?

  Simon Stagg : He was running an errand for me, that's all.

  Rex Mason : Was his errand picking up a load of illegal mutagens?

  Simon Stagg : Forget about it, Mason. It's yesterday's news.

  Rex Mason : I don't hear you denying it.

  Simon Stagg : Then hear this: stay out of it.

  Rex Mason : And if I don't?

  Simon Stagg : I made you, and I can just as easily unmake you. Understand?

• Java : Yeah, boss. I got 'em right here.

  Simon Stagg : Listen carefully, Java. It's important. I need those mutagen samples. Don't let them out of your sight.

• Metamorpho : Metamorpho. Isn't that what you called your little project?

  Simon Stagg : Mason!

  Metamorpho : Well, you'll be happy to know it works like a charm. Behold the wonder of science.

  Simon Stagg : Honestly, I'm heartsick about this. We all are. It was a terrible accident.

  Metamorpho : It was no accident, Simon, and I want to know who's responsible.

  Simon Stagg : [he smashes a computer and the table it's on]  Mason, don't!

  Metamorpho : [grabbing him by the throat]  Tell me now!

  Simon Stagg : All right, all right. But remember, she had nothing to do with this.

  Metamorpho : [letting him go]  What are you talking about?

  Simon Stagg : [giving him manilla folder]  See for yourself.

  [opening it, Mason sees pictures of Sapphire and Green Lantern which, out context, could be construed that they're romantically involved] 

  Metamorpho : [crumpling them and setting them on fire]  I don't believe it!
