A case involving a serial killer of women and an old gypsy vendetta against a man who betrayed them to the Communists years ago get entangled. All I will say is that in fact the cases are separate and there are two different perpetrators. How they become connected is for you to find out by watching the show.

Kathleen Widdoes does a fine job as the gypsy queen who gets Telly Savalas's team looking for someone who may have betrayed a lot of gypsies to the Communists in Hungary, Grateful isn't exactly the atitude Kojak has for Widdoes, but they develop a healthy respect for each other. One smart individual for another.

Good episode to end season 4.

Kojak is usually a pretty-decent show. The entire run of the series was usually pretty-good for the most part. Unfortunately,this episode here is one of the few occasional duds that somehow got slipped into the mix.

The plot of the story here is not plausible or believable. Several of the things that happen are downright ridiculous in fact.

For whatever reason,the writers of Kojak occasionally had a crude fascination or even a borderline obsession with portraying various quirks and oddities of the many different ethnic groups in 1970's NYC.

The problem is,the portrayal of these different ethnic groups was always one-dimensional and shallow. Whichever ethnic group they happened to be focusing in-on for a particular episode,they never failed to make that ethnic group look pretty-silly.

For this particular episode they decided to showcase Gypsies,in a very generic, sanitized,silly and simplistic manner.

Mix in some nonsense about East Germany,add several impossible synchronicities and coincidences,along with several incompetent characters and you will get this weak episode of Kojak.

As much as I hate to say it,this is probably the worst episode I've seen yet of this show. 3/10 Bad episode !
