Never Trust A Gypsy (Or Should You?)
ccthemovieman-115 February 2012
This was a very interesting episode involving gypsies and an incredible multiple-bank heist masterminded by one of them: "Marina Sheldon" (Zohra Lampert).

The opening segment has another bank heist (which is what leads to the second one, via our cunning gypsy female ("Marina"). This heist scene will get your attention! Along the way, the ever-sarcastic "Lt. Kojak" (Telly Savalas) pretends to see the future in his lollipop while interrogating the gypsy con-men (and con-women).

Lots of interesting things in this episode. Perhaps the most interesting was the actress Lampert. She had a beautiful and exotic face which looked vulnerable but also tough-as-nails. She was hard to figure, but perfect for this role.

Only the gypsies know

Zohra Lampert gives a stunning performance and dominates this Kojak episode of a gypsy woman who gets caught up in a bank robbery while she herself is pulling a con job involving switching some counterfeit money for change. Just as she's done her deed, some bank robbers who are holding up the armored car outside get nervous and one, Lane Smith, gets trigger happy and three guards and another civilian are mowed done. She's the witness.

After Stavros has shown her some mugshots she recognizes one of them and uses her gypsy contacts to locate him faster than the cops could. And she's got a great proposition, a can't miss scheme for multiple holdups. I can't say more, it's a beauty. But I will say that Lampert is working her own scheme involving fooling the cops and the robbers.

Lampert really dominates this story as we see so many personalities within her as she shows a different face to whomever she's dealing with. It makes up for the fact that the ending while probably just is also highly unrealistic. No way would Telly Savalas do what he did in the end.
