Directed by Leo Penn and written by Andy Lewis,the television series "Lancer" episode "Zee"(telecast date: September 30,1969-Season Two) guest starring Stefanie Powers along with Ellen Corby,Vaughn Taylor along with Jack Elam and Dub Taylor won the Western Writers of America "Spur Award" in 1970,being the first episode from the "Lancer" television series to ever be designate for a television script.
Produced by Alan A. Armer(of "The Invaders","The Fugitive","The Untouchables"),the series "Lancer" ran for two seasons on CBS-TV from September 24,1968 until May 19,1970,producing 51 episodes all in color. William Self was the executive in charge of production for 20th Century-Fox Television,which produced the series. CBS,however repeated these episodes during the summer of 1971 as a replacement.
