- Three men ride into Laramie to hold up the bank. Two are arrested and one is a friend of Johnny's father. Transporting them to Cheyenne, Dan feels Johnny may have let his guard down when his uncle escapes heading to his stash of loot.
- Three men ride into Laramie to rob the bank as it opens. Miss Selma notices the robbery and warns Troop and Johnny resulting in a shootout. One man escapes, one is wounded, and the third captured by Johnny turns out to be "Uncle" Joe who knew Johnny's dad and helped raise him. They are a well known gang wanted in Cheyenne. Troop and Johnny escort the two prisoners on the trip during which Joe plays on Johnny's sympathies. During camp Joe asks Johnny to untie some of the ropes holding him as he can't sleep. Johnny falls asleep allowing Joe to escape. After lecturing Johnny on his actions, Troop continues with the remaining prisoner while Johnny goes after Joe at an abandoned fort. He finds Joe shot the other man in the back forcing Johnny to confront Joe who won't go to jail.—Anonymous
- Three bank robbers are stopped trying to rob the Laramie bank. One of them turns out to be a family friend of Johnny, who experiences mixed feelings as he and Dan transport the man and other surviving robber for trial.
