- Eddie thinks he has it made when his father gives him a service station credit card to purchase gas and oil for his car, the card which he goads over his friends. Although he doesn't say as much to Eddie, Wally feels that he is behind Eddie in everything, and wants his father to get him a credit card as well, which Ward refuses to do since he believes Wally is still too young for such responsibility. While Wally, Eddie and Lumpy are out of town at a football game, Wally's car battery dies, he needing a new one to get the car started. Without the $15 for the new battery between them, Eddie offers to pay using his credit card. Feeling in a bind, Wally agrees, vowing to pay Eddie back immediately once they get home, which Wally does do. However, instead of giving his father the $15 for the incoming bill, Eddie decides to buy a new vest with the money instead, believing he can come up with the money for his father before the bill comes in. Eddie's further actions on the matter get a lot of people in trouble and shows that Eddie doesn't fully comprehend the notion of credit.—Huggo
